Free House in pretty village. Unmodernised, and all the better for that. There are two bars, a family room and a pool table room. Interesting range of independent beers on handpump. Clearly a popular place for the locals.

This very old pub has retained its dark old interiors and decor that appears to not have changed in years. All is very rustic and the staff are as just as raw, but in a good way. The atmosphere cannot be replicated any other way. The food is decent and the prices are very reasonable. It’s a dog friendly venue and I simply loved it.

Excellent traditional real ale pub. We didn't eat there but have booked to on another day. Staff welcoming, friendly, polite and helpful nothing to much trouble. Locals fabulous made very welcome chatting about common interests and places to visit.

This is a beautiful country pub, full of character and welcoming energy. The kitchen takes great pride in their food with good reason, it's very tasty and portions are massive! They brew their own ales, we tried them all. Each had their own distinctive character and flavor notes, or favourite was the Buddha, but all were 5/5 ales. Check out the all the mugs on the ceiling, tankards and even witches! Brilliant experience, can't wait to return some day

Real ales at under £4 a pint including the apparently exclusive Buddha beer which was excellent and the triple fresh Cornish Crab sandwiches at £13 a meal were the best I have had for some decades, so much so that I ordered another one as a takeaway for the following day.

You won't find a more honest pub. A treasure and a pleasure. Food I had would not be out of place at a top restaurant on top form, £12.95 main. Don't miss it Experience it before it's corporatised and gone for ever.

A regular stop-off from travelling A30 or just if I'm in the area asthis is one of my all time favourite pubs. Not eaten there but this is a REAL pub in idyllic setting. Fabulous beers and cider.

A proper pub with a few locals in. A good choice of ales with a really friendly barmaid. It was quiet inside and lacked atmosphere but the character of the whole pub made up for it. There's no pub sign outside so it looks like a house on the village green.
